1.What are the various classes of travel and their codes?

A.The system recognizes the following classes of travel:
Class Code
First class FC
Second class 2S

2.What are the various ticket types available for season ticket booking through Internet?

A. Quaterly and monthly season tickets can be booked through Internet.Quaterly season ticket will be charged at 2.7 times of the normal season ticket fares rounded off to the next higher multiple of Rs 5.

3.Can i book child/student/other concessional tickets through internet?

A. At present, Internet booking is allowed only for Adult passengers.

4. How do I find out STATION CODE for a given station?

A. Station names along with station codes are provided in the drop down menu box against source and destination captions.Customer have to select the source and destination stations from the list provided .At a time customer can provide upto valid three source and three destinations.

5.How can I use the internet reservation facility to plan my journey?

A. Get yourself registered online by submitting the Registration Form available in this web site with your personal details. The Mumbai suburban season ticket facility to be opted while registering for booking season tickets through www.irctc.co.in.Further details are available at the terms and conditions page.

6. What is the mode of Payment?

A. Payment Options
  1. Payment by credit cards:
    1. ICICI Bank Payment Gateway:
      Payments through any Master / Visa credit cards issued by any bank Transaction charges of 1.8% on the total transaction value will be levied by the card issuing bank.
    2. Citibank Payment Gateway:
      ALL MASTER / VISA/ DINERS CLUB CREDIT CARDS.Transaction Charges 1.8% Transaction Charges waived for bookings on Citibank Issued Credit cards till Sept 30th 2006.
    3. Amex Bank Payment Gateway:
      Transaction Charges of 1.8% on the total transaction value will be levied for Cards issued by American Express Bank. Transaction charges for American Express Cards issued by any other bank (eg. ICICI Bank) will be as applied by the issuing bank.

  2. Payment through Direct Debit facility of Internet Banking option of
    1. ICICI Bank - Transaction charges of Rs. 5/-+service tax as applicable per transaction.
    2. HDFC Bank - Transaction charges of Rs. 10/- per transaction.
    3. IDBI Bank - Transaction charges of Rs. 10/- per transaction.
    4. Citibank Debit - Transaction charges of Rs. 10/- per transaction.
    5. ITZ Cash Direct Debit - Transaction charges of Rs. 15/- or 1.9% of the transaction value will be levied by ITZ Cash.
    6. Union Bank of India - Transaction charge Nill.
    7. Federal Bank - Transaction charge Nill.
    8. Punjab National Bank - Transaction charge Nill.
    9. IndusInd Bank - Transaction charge Nill.
    10. Done Card - Transaction Charge NIL.

7.How much extra should I pay for my ticket?

Services charges Nill for all classes

8. How do I ge a valid route between different stations?

A. After logging in, click on the "Book my season ticket " link from the left side navigation menu. The link takes you to a page where you are prompted to select the Source Station & Destination Station (Select one from the dropdown box), Class (Select one from the dropdown box). and type of ticket(Select one from the dropdown box-Monthly or Quaterly).A maximum of three different source and three different destination stations can be opted at a time. The system will generate all the valid route between these stations and you have to select one route which suites your requirement .

9. How can I check the Fare for my journey?

A. After logging in, click on the "Book my season ticket " link from the left side navigation menu. The link takes you to a page where you are prompted to select the Source Station & Destination Station (Select one from the dropdown box), Class (Select one from the dropdown box). and type of ticket(Select one from the dropdown box-Monthly or Quaterly).A maximum of three different source and three different destination stations can be opted at a time.
The system will generate all the valid route between these stations and you have to select one route which suites your requirement .
After selecting the route and clicking the 'Go'button you will be displayed all the details of your season ticket including the fare .

10. What are the different types of concessions available for Passengers?

A. At present no Concession season tickets are offered through this site.

11. can i cancel my season ticket?

A. At present no cancellation facility for season tickets are offered through this site.

12. How do I get compensated if I was forced to travel in a lower class than what I had booked, or AC was not working etc?

A. If a season ticket holder is compelled to travel in a class lower than that for which the season ticket is issued for want of accommodation or room or any other cause ,he shall not be entitled to the benefit of refund of difference of fares

13.How can I modify the details of my ticket?

A. At present Modification facility of season tickets are not offered through this site.

14.How will I get my tickets delivered?

A. Tickets will be delivered to the customer at his desired address through courier. This delivery of season Tickets through courier is limited to postal addresses covered by the pin codes listed under the link "Places of Delivery ". For details of areas where courier delivery is provided at present, categorized by PINCODE,pleasePleaseClick here.

15.How much time before my date of journey should I give to ensure Home Delivery?

A. For season tickets to be delivered by courier to the customer, there must be two clear calendar days between the booking date and the date of travel. , e.g. On 1st you can book season ticket valid from 4th (2 clear days) upto 10th. For details of areas covered, please Click here.

16.While booking, the amount was debited but ticket not booked. What should I do?

A. After pressing the “Buy” button, if the “Ticket reservation confirmation page” is not displayed on your monitor due to power failure or Internet link /communication failure, please click the “Booked Tickets” menu on the left side of the screen.This page will display these cases highlighted along with succesfull booking details.
Customer can exercise the ENQUIRY option available to know the status of the ticket and if ticket not booked can retry booking by clicking the "Book my ticket" button.You are also advised to check your e-mail or contact IRCTC, if necessary.IRCTC will not be responsible for any loss or damage or inconvenience to the customer who book his same ticket more than once as logging in with different userid or by any other means.
If you do not see the desired transaction on this list, it means that the ticket has not been booked. The amount debited would be credited back to you in full without levying any charges. You may retry the transaction for booking your ticket. If you face this problem very often please let us know immediately.

17.How do I know the status of the delivery of my ticket?

A. You can track the status of delivery of your ticket by entering the STR No. in the 'Track Your Ticket' page provided on the site, from the next day of booking the ticket. You may also contact the local courier office at the address / phone numbers provided on the same page. If you face any difficulty, please let us know immediately.

18. What details should I provide to the Courier for delivery of my ticket?

A. You will be required to produce the proof of your identity along with the transaction ID and PNR No. of your ticket for verification. If you are authorizing some one to collect your ticket on your behalf, that person should have in addition to above, an authority letter, which should clearly contain the PNR No, from you for effecting delivery as well as proof of his/her identity.

19.What should I do if I don't see the confirmation of my booking on my screen?

A.
